Of bicycles and sugarloaf mountains

I recently discovered the incredibly beautiful pictures of Dong Hong-Oai, a Chinese artist who used a style called pictorialism to make his photographs look like traditional Chinese paintings. He even used calligraphy to complete the effect. Though the photo here looks nothing like Dong’s stuff, I was nonetheless inspired to post it. Must be that karst topography. Taken in a village near Yangshuo, China, on a perfect day in 1998.
